The Palmera Projects HUMAN RACE is coming to both Sydney and Melbourne this year!!!
Sydney: 29th November 2009 and Melbourne: 21st Feb 2010
All proceeds raised from Human Race ’09 will be donated to three great projects;
1. World Vision Emergency Relief project
World Vision is currently working in Menik F arm and other IDP camps in northern
Sri Lanka, it aims to both assist displaced families as long as they are in the camps, and also provide them with support in rebuilding their communities after returning home in coming months .
2. Oxfam UK – water filtration project
There is a significant requirement for clean drinking water in the IDP camps of northern Sri Lanka . Palmera aims to raise funds to help meet the current shortfall in water by installing filtration units in the IDP camps.
3. Youth of the streets
Although Human Race is aimed at alleviating the suffering of marginalised communities, as Australian youth we cannot ignore the needs here at home. This year a portion of our proceeds will be donated to Father Chris Riley’s Youth of the Streets.
